Project Summary (SCENARIO)

I. Project Summary (Scenario)

Would you like to have your own business? Do you imagine yourself working with your friends after graduation? Kuwait is full of success stories of young entrepreneurs who were brought together by a common goal and a passion for success. Typically, such young business people reach out to the community through the Internet. Thus, it is important for your future success to master the skill of writing online, in order to reach your potential customers. This project will help you hone your writing skills, especially in establishing a presence online through blogs and social media.

Deliverables and Project Management

Expected number of students per group: 3

PD1 task:

Students will invent a company, choose a line of business, and then write an explanation of the competitive edge their company will have. They will create a company profile, logo and slogan and will produce vision and mission statements for their company. They will also decide on the content of the digital portfolio.

Submission Specifications:

Students will submit the Word document on Turnitin.

PROJECT DELIVERABLE 2 (15%): You will have to submit a portfolio that contains 3 items as explained below:

1. A combination of 10 microblogs (Tweets, Instagram, Facebook posts) as a Word document.

2. A blog as a Word document

PD2 tasks:

Take at least 5 pictures (for the other 5 you can use stock images on the internet but will need to cite your sources) and write relevant social media posts based on those pictures. To learn more about uses of social media for business, check out the following link:

BATUM

The business is about cloths. All kind of cloths for all the gender and ages. We design according to the weather and what is the trend. It is winter, we design clothes for winter only. Also, see what is currently popular and what design is loved all people and we will design it. We choose the name according to the small story that happened with the owner. First child from her sister called her name by that name then she named the business by BATUM.

Since I was young I like fashion and it was a pleasure for me. I enjoy in choosing my outfits every day and I was always helping my sisters by choosing their outfits. So I am in business to work in my hobby and work in something that I loved and enjoyed it. I see my business in 3-5 years that I will create a whole new concept in clothing and having my own brand, having a Certified brand trademark. And I will have a stores in the most famous malls in Kuwait.

We need this business in Kuwait because it will go with the trend and since Kuwaiti culture is famous for its constant and changing trends, a business like this will be a perfect fit. In addition, most stores offer very limited quantities of shirts and pullover with designs that are also limited. This business offers not only endless designs but also customizable designs in which the person can choose any picture, logo, statement, etc. that can be printed on the product. The quality is extremely higher, and the prices are affordable.

In terms of competitiveness, the business that we have offers products that can be recycled, ones that are already recycled, and regular products. This makes our business stand out the most because we can appeal to different segments of people. In addition, 5% of our profits goes to a charity that a customer chooses upon ordering. Furthermore, when the order is delivered, the customer can expect a very attractive packaging with just a pinch of perfume which will in return, give the customer a very unique experience. This is exactly why customers would be attracted to our business more than the competitors. It is because of the unique given experience, fitting to their demands, and giving back to the community.
