Validity of the Author:
The author is a reputed writer with an impressive curriculum, from articles to books, with publishing in well-known sources like the Guardian and the New York Times. With extensive work on research and history in general, he has added especial resources for this book in particular, with the use of several credible sources.
Source Information
: This source provides different views of how food have influenced history in a whole, tackling the matter from diverse sides. Food had influenced the progress of nations, and the stagnation of others, while defining wars and economics. The matter addressed is not necessarily of the changes on food, but most of how food changed history in its diverse transformations. As the subject was somewhat neglected while being treated as a history matter, the source is crucial for its richness in information. Also, if the book is good enough for the curriculum of this class, it helps to demonstrate its credibility as a source.

Author’s Validity:
The author is a professor of food history for the University of Toronto Scarborough, and has five books published in the past two decades, all about food and its history throughout the globe.

: This source shows the ancient times until the present, addressing matters such as food consumption and its variations according to cultures. The role food has been playing on the political, and environmental matters is also a key point this book provides for this research, as it will help to create a connection in between past and future perspectives. To support his theories the author used numerous case studies throughout the globe to examine how food helped to create an identity to each society, or a region all together. With that he tries to explain how and why each region developed a certain type of cuisine, and how that lasted thru the years, like the Italians, Chinese, and Latin America.
