Question 1

In supportive psychotherapy, it is known that the therapist plays the role of the model of the ideal which is considered to be expected of the given client. While in the interpersonal psychotherapy, the given therapist is the one who plays the role of a particular guide that provides guidance to the given client during interpretation of what is considered to be ideal. (Blanco, et.al, 2019).

Question 2

The two Psychotherapies tend to have some given similarities in between them. The first similarity is both approaches of psychotherapy tend to use application if talk therapy which basically means that the given therapist plays the role of a mediator in addition to engaging the client within a conversation in order to find out as well as discuss the problem that is underlying with a perception of presenting as well as applying a solution which is personalized which is most suitable for the needs of the client. An additional similarity is that the two approaches have an objective of bringing an impact which is therapeutic to patients who have the symptoms of the conditions that are psychiatric.

Question 3

With the approach of psychotherapy, the main objective of the given therapist is basically enhancing the adaptive in addition to patterns that are healthy of the given patient with an aim of reducing the intrapsychic conflicts that are prevailing contributing to the condition of the patient. On the other side, the approach which is interpersonal refers to an interpersonal brief strategy which is focused, in addition to concentrating on identifying as well as resolving the interpersonal challenges that are prevailing in order to have the presenting symptoms alleviated. The therapist in most cases has their concern on context which is interpersonal in addition to connected factors which might propagate, predispose or precipitate psychiatric disorders symptom (Coyne, et.al, 2018).

The second difference is that interpersonal approach is a treatment model which is emphatically supported which sticks to an approach which is highly structured in addition to being time limited which mostly takes around 12-16 weeks. While the approach which is supportive is unstructured and uses the combination of psychodynamic cognitive behavioral or the approach of interpersonal conceptual. The third difference is that the support approach aims at enhancing the health of a patient and patterns that are adaptive so as to the conflicts that are prevailing while interpersonal approach identified and resolves any problematic interpersonal relationships that are prevailing. Due to these factors, therapist are supposed to assess the aspects that are relational of patients which might have the probability of impacting the given patient.

Question 4

Me being a nurse therapist, my preferred approach is the interpersonal when tackling challenges presented through patients who have mental conditions. The main reason for choosing this approach is mainly because it puts emphasis on the essence of interpersonal relationships. Interpersonal relationships that are poor are a great contribution to the cause of most of psychiatric disorders inclusive of the ones that are in relation to the mood as well as the behavior of people. The two aspects which are behavior in addition to mood have a significant contribution within the mental disorders development. This approach is considered to be more efficient within the treatment of most of the conditions that are psychiatric in comparison to the psychotherapy approach which is supportive which tends to have its limitations on the problems associated (Lenze and Potts, 2017).

Conclusion

With the interpersonal therapy it is a treatment which is short term mainly for depression. Addresses issues that are interpersonal with the probability of having relations to or impacted by depression. It has an objective of quickly easing symptoms for depression in addition to enhancing social adjustment. On the other hand, supportive psychotherapy is known to provide prominence into validating the loss as well as the distress associated with schizophrenic at the same time offering support which is practical for addressing challenges.
