Cherish K. Johnson is an active member of the U.S Chief Financial Officers Council. The council comprises of senior officials (CFOs and deputy CFOs) in federal agencies who work together to improve financial management in the U.S government. Thus, she is the CFO of the U.S Nuclear Regulatory Committee (NRC); This is an independent agency of the US government which protects public health and safety concerning nuclear energy.

Cherish K. Johnson was appointed as CFO of NRC in February 2020. Before her appointment, she was the CFO of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) since 2014. Her work history shows that she has a lot of experience in the nuclear energy and space industry having held positions in NASA and the Space Operations Mission Directorate. Such as Budget Officer in NASA Program Analysis and Evaluation department, and so on. Ms. Cherish K. Johnson also has accolades to her name. She won NOAA Administrators Award and NASA Space Flight Awareness Award.

In my opinion, Cherish K. Johnson is a good CFO because her track record is impressive. It shows she has intimate and specialized knowledge of the profession. I also find women in executive positions inspiring especially in a male-dominated industry. In conclusion, I learned a lot about the importance of CFOs in organizations. The NRC put up a page on the responsibilities of the CFO and I further realized why good financial management must be integrated into organizations and government for them to remain competitive today.

Luca Maestri, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of APPLE

As CFO, Luca oversees the accounting, business support, financial planning and analysis, treasury, real estate, investor relations, internal audit and tax functions at Apple. Luca joined Apple in 2013 as vice president of Finance and corporate controller, and has worked closely with Apple’s senior leadership since his arrival.

He began his career with General Motors and spent 20 years in finance and operating roles in the Americas, Asia Pacific and Europe. While at GM, Luca was part of the team that established GM’s regional Asia Pacific operations, including manufacturing investments in China and Thailand. He later became CFO for all of GM’s operations in Europe, which spanned over 45 countries with annual net revenue of approximately $40 billion.

Luca graduated from Luiss University in Rome with a bachelor’s degree in Economics and earned a master’s degree in Science of Management from Boston University.

Prior to joining Apple, Luca was CFO at Xerox and previously at Nokia Siemens Networks.

Sales also set a record in each of Apple’s geographic segments and rose double digits across each product line.
