The course of Business Intelligence is an important part of the development of each student that has understood its requirements. In this essay, the knowledge,
theories, and the applications of this course are essential in that it helps use understand the outside world better, especially in the working environments that we are
located in. For instance, my current working environment is a business organization that deals in Software development. From the knowledge from this course, it is
crucial that businesses today to consider aspects of business intelligence. This is important to the stakeholders of the organization and also the making of certain
decisions regarding the operations of the business. In addition, I appreciate the fact that this course has instilled me with the knowledge to understand that business
intelligence also considers the organization security and safety of organizational systems. Furthermore, there are essential aspects that businesses have to consider
in regards to business intelligence. For instance, the top management in the organizations must be able to explore the use of computer systems which tries to imitate
different human attributes such as problem solving, judgment, and learning. Additionally, it is important to explore the use of various technologies and tools which
help the business gather and analyze data in the business. With these aspects, it helps the business reduce the human workload which is more expensive as opposed
to the use of robots which mimic different attributes of human intelligence (Sun, Sun, & Strang, 2016). Additionally, the business data will be able protected from
unauthorized access, hence security will be enhanced. From the knowledge and theories from this course, I therefore agree that data is the most valuable asset of an
organization. Therefore, organization should seek to analyze and secure crucial data from the reach of unauthorized access. Also, organizations need to maximize
profits by minimizing inputs. Therefore, this course has a great connection to my current work as a Software Developer. In my current work, I am tasked with the
responsibility of creating business intelligence tools and reports such as physical data models and dimensional analyses. Additionally, the course has impacted on my
work in that I am able to design, test, code, and aggregate results from SQL questions in order to provide solutions to users (Masa’Deh, Obeidat, Maqableh, & Shah,
2018). Moreover, I am able to create technical documents which are important to documents the contents of other databases (Masa’Deh, Obeidat, Maqableh, & Shah,
2018). The business intelligence course also impacted my work in that I am able to develop and analyze data architecture effectively.
