Today, many corporations are utilizing digital technologies to build fresh or change existing industrial processes, customs, and consumer experiences to suit the ever-changing industry and market demands. Gartner hype cycle for rising technologies 2020 shows how the application of scientific knowledge will drastically affect industries and humankind subsequently from 2020 and beyond. Some of these technologies include the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to increase accessibility, data mining by companies to identify customer needs and the use of blockchain technology.
One of the technologies is the utilization of AI to increase employment for the disabled. It is predicted that by the next three years many disabled citizens will get jobs in different industries. Due to rising technology, AI will enhance accessibility to different job sectors. There are many disabled people with great abilities who are not employed during the hiring process yet can assist organizations achieve their set goals. This will necessitate a change in the culture and technicalities of organizations to enable the physically challenged to have a conducive environment to perform their duties. Statistics have shown that 89% of the disabled have a great chance to remain in their current jobs for a long time, a 72% boost in production, and a 29% rise in profitability hence this shows the importance of disabled persons in any organization.
Secondly, as technology is growing, and increasingly becoming sophisticated consumer needs will be predicted more accurately by marketers who will be able to tell how much to price their products and where to place them. This is because of the increasing accessibility of consumer data where marketers can identify exactly which consumer will purchase their product. Consumers will then buy more products which they may not necessarily need or afford necessitating businesses to take responsibility and warn their potential customers about the habit. By the year 2024 World health organization will classify shopping online as an addictive syndrome since millions will encounter financial strain due to the misuse of digital commerce. It may similarly see businesses pressurized by consumer groups and governments to take responsibility due to their exploitative practices.
Another technology is the use of blockchain to verify global news and video content. Before 2023, 30% of this content which has increased due to the use of automated software’s will be confirmed using blockchain to know the truth and assist counter false technology. Many businesses and governments today are utilizing blockchain technology to verify information, photographs, and other recordings since the technology will generate absolute documentation of shared content which is easy for consumers to view.
Technologies and their uses are on the verge of affecting each aspect of humankind. Technologies and its application are vital for any organization to remain competitive and deal with emerging challenges in its current setting. Application of artificial intelligence to assist physically challenged to do their work, utilization of consumer data to discover the client’s needs, and application of blockchain to verify the information is fundamental for businesses to operate efficiently.
