Week 4
Use the literature in your annotated bibliography to develop your Research Questions.
Dissertation Topic: How is HRIS related to Organizational Memory Information System research?
Provide a 500 word (or 2 pages double spaced) minimum reflection. Use of proper APA formatting and citations. If supporting evidence from outside resources is used those must be properly cited. Share a personal connection that identifies specific knowledge and theories from this course. Demonstrate a connection to your current work environment. If you are not employed, demonstrate a connection to your desired work environment. You should NOT provide an overview of the assignments assigned in the course. The assignment asks that you reflect on how the knowledge and skills obtained through meeting course objectives were applied or could be applied in the workplace.
Week 5
For your Chapter 2 use hypotheses to develop the Research Model (Provide material on hypotheses).
Dissertation Topic: How is HRIS related to Organizational Memory Information System research?
Provide a 750 word (or 3 pages double spaced) minimum reflection.
Week 6
Post your final Chapter 2 including all the recommendations received during the course.

Anand, V., Manz, C. C., & Glick, W. H. (2008). An organizational memory approach to information management.
Academy of management review, 23(4), 796-809.
This article constitutes a case study of the organizational memory information system (OMIS) of a power plant. It attempts to explore the extent of OMIS in influencing organizational effectiveness. Organizational memory is among the basic constructs associated with organizational learning. Since organizational learning is reliant on organizational memory, therefore, organization memory can be shown to contribute to organizational effectiveness making it likely that organization memory enhances organization learning. The methodology uses to gather information utilized various forms of data collection. Multiple theoretical approaches for measuring effectiveness and analyzing data were used. All the activities undertaken by the organization requiring organizational management were identified and analyzed. The article found that the effectiveness of OMIS is reliant to a large extent on how well the composite system integrates the components. It shows that managers and supervisors believe that shifting OMIS from a manual system to an automated system has resulted in a productivity improvement. Similarly, if the technical aspects of OMIS continue to be improved, benefits in goal attainment, integration, and pattern maintenance are accomplished.
Rahman, A. A., & Hamidi, S. R. (2006). Organizational Memory Information System Case Study in Faculty Of Computer Science & Information System, UTM. In International Conference on Technology Management, Putrajaya.
The objective of this paper is to analyze the necessity of organizational memory information system (OMIS) within computer science and information systems to refine the management of education. The author examines various models in his research to implement features familiar in organizational memory information system. A variety of OMIS features are identified and evaluated, afterwards an assessment model keen on categorizing their success rate is implemented. The author outlines three possible features of OMIS namely; computer documentation, paper documents, and self-memory. The author reveals that information technology supports organizational memory in two major ways; by making gathered sources of information available to members of an organization or by making people with substantial recognizable. This paper indicates the five key success factors for evaluating OMIS deployment. They include quality of information, measurement of success in regard to usage of information, quality of systems, the impact of individuals, and organizational impact. The author concludes by offering specific solutions tailored towards the management of educational systems founded on methodologies that make organizational memory information systems function practically.
