Psychoanalytic applications in a diverse society focusing on racial and cultural diversity.
The article applies psychoanalytic theory for the study of diversity in clinical and community context.
Proposed interventions are multicultural approach, community approach and psychoanalytic theoretical approach.
Psychoanalytic theory can be beneficial to therapeutic work and consultation across social cultural context.

Summary of the Article
This article focuses on psychoanalytic applications in a diverse society focusing on racial and cultural diversity (Tummala-Narra, 2013). The article applies psychoanalytic theory for the study of diversity in clinical and community context. Some of the proposed interventions suggested by the author for engaging the stakeholders in psychoanalytic applications in a diversified society are multicultural approach, community approach and psychoanalytic theoretical approach. These approaches tend to ascertain how psychoanalytic theory can be expounded by engaging a diversified population in the study based on their race and culture. Psychotherapy and community intervention have been used in the illustration of how psychoanalytic theory can be beneficial to therapeutic work and consultation across social cultural context.

The article focuses on the application of psychoanalytic theory on individuals from different races and cultural background as depicted in Reena’s case.
Intervention used
Community intervention where community-based outreach project was conducted through psychoeducational group meetings in a diversified school that entailed African America ns and Latino students. Psychotherapy approach was also used where Psychoanalytic Theory was used to elaborate the influence of therapeutic interaction to an individual’s psychology. The theory has been used in the article to provide a deeper understanding of diversity in psychology. The theory aims to address the foundation and formation various psychological processes such as anxiety and fear as individuals interact in the society.

Perception of the Intervention
These interventions have been used by various researchers in the past in ascertaining how various interactions in the society affect the individuals psychologically. The author does not praise the use of the internet over the traditional method but tries to discuss some of the views of the analysts engaged in psychological studies. An individual for instance an Indian working among Americans in the organization might be affected psychologically especially if he or she feels she is not recognized. Various psychoanalytic experts have shared their experience for working in different community settings where they claim to have suffered psychological trauma.

Future of diversity depends on psychoanalysis.
An effective understanding of diverse contexts defines the future of psychoanalysis.

The aspect would be translated into my practice because I would sensitize the community on the need for diversity.

The author claims that individual involved in community-based interventions should have an effective psychodynamic understanding of interpersonal aspects of interventions such as racial and cultural conflicts for successful interaction with the community. The author claims that the future of diversity depends on psychoanalysis and an effective understanding of diverse contexts defines the future of psychoanalysis (LaMothe, 2015).

The educators, researchers, psychoanalytic and consultants have the duty to integrate various perspectives to address the needs of minority communities.

I would embrace inclusion of clients of different races and culture to create a sense of belonging among them

Findings or outcomes of the article

Limitation of the study
The main limitation of the study is the focus on two aspects of diversity; race and culture hence studies should be conducted to ascertain psychoanalytic application on gender diversity and religious diversity. The limitations of this study cannot prevent me from using the findings because they are crucial as they provide the strategy for thriving in several community settings without psychological problems.

People who don’t know how to use the internet and other forms of communication is a limitation to the study (Migone, 2013). However, it is important to note that at least 9 out of 10 patients can use a phone.

The limitations of the study
The phone is also another way that therapy can be done. It is important to note that therapy is more of communication. It is therefore clear that the limitations to the study might not impact the ability to use the findings as presented in the article.
