OL 668 Final Project Guidelines and Rubric
Overview
In an increasingly global world, it is paramount for organizational and HR professionals to maintain cultural competencies when conducting business.
Unfortunately, while many organizations are global, they do not always conduct business in the most globally appropriate ways. Employees may not understand
there are different social, cultural, legal, and moral norms between countries. Equally important is to understand how these differences, if not managed well,
can negatively impact organizational effectiveness and performance.
The final project for this course is the creation of a business practice analysis with recommendations. The final product represents an authentic demonstration of
competency because it will ask you to situate strategic human resource management in the global stage, focusing on a wide range of issues related to global
markets, global security, managing an international workforce, effective cross-cultural management and communication, and diversity in the workplace. The
emphasis is placed on how businesses can become more competitive by leveraging an effective HR plan for diversity and international business.
The project is divided into three milestones, which will be submitted at various points throughout the course to scaffold learning and ensure quality final
submissions. These milestones will be submitted in Modules Two, Four, and Seven. The final product will be submitted in Module Nine.
In this assignment, you will demonstrate your mastery of the following course outcomes:
Determine gaps in the alignment of organizational business practices relevant to human resources management with geocentric perspectives
Illustrate the benefits of incorporating geocentric human resources management strategies into organizational practices
Recommend organizational technological improvements for human resources processes that reduce global barriers
Recommend strategies for anticipating and mitigating potential risk events regarding human resources management through analyses of political trends
Make recommendations for fostering organizational cultural competence and the development of interpersonal relationships over global boundaries
Prompt
For the summative assessment, you will imagine you are a human resources professional working at a prominent global company. There have been recent
concerns regarding how the organization has been conducting business in the global market, and it has tasked you with identifying problems and recommending
solutions. You will analyze information from the case study Nimble Storage: Scaling Talent Strategy Amidst Hyper-Growth for how the organization’s business
practices have aligned with more geocentric perspectives, identifying potential gaps in its current practices. You will then make a series of recommendations
directed to leadership for addressing identified gaps and ensuring a successful transition regarding your proposed changes.
As a start to your analysis of Nimble’s Storage, you may need to research beyond the case study to get a full understanding of Nimble’s mission, vision, and
culture. Visit the Nimble Storage website to further explore the company.

G. Make recommendations as to how you would advise the organization regarding how to make the organization more global while maintaining its
unique identity. Be sure to justify your response.
Milestones
Milestone One: Analysis and Recommendations Part I: Technological Gaps
In Module Two, you will submit Milestone One. In this assignment, you will compose an analysis of the mission statement of Nimble Storage, the storage
company that is the focus of your case study: Nimble Storage: Scaling Talent Strategy Amidst Hyper-Growth. In your analysis, you will be asked to determine if
the annual goals and objectives set by the company constitute an appropriate business practice for a company wishing to go global. You will also be asked to
assess the technological gaps in the company.
In addition to composing this analysis, this milestone also requires you to begin populating an Excel spreadsheet: PESTEL Analysis Worksheet. For this portion of
the PESTEL Analysis Worksheet, you will populate the first two rows: United States and Brazil. Although this is separate from your milestone composition, you
must upload the worksheet for review and instructor feedback. The purpose of completing the PESTEL analysis is to give you a global perspective as you work
through the final project. This worksheet will be used as a visual aid to help you understand the data necessary to determine the steps Nimble Storage will need
to take in order to go global. This milestone will be graded with the Milestone One Rubric.
Milestone Two: Analysis and Recommendations Part II: Cultural Gaps
In Module Four, you will submit Milestone Two. For this milestone, you will compose an analysis of the cultural gaps that Nimble Storage may need to fill in
order to enhance its business practices. Additionally, you will be asked to illustrate the potential gains for the organization regarding its employee collaboration
if it adopts a more geocentric focus.
In addition to composing this analysis, this milestone also requires you to continue populating the necessary rows of the PESTEL Analysis Worksheet. Each time
you populate this worksheet (this is the second time), you will work through the characteristics of different countries/regions. For this portion of the PESTEL
Analysis Worksheet, you will populate the rows: China, Japan, and Europe. This milestone will be graded with the Milestone Two Rubric.
Milestone Three: Analysis and Recommendations Part III: Global Political Trends
In Module Seven, you will submit Milestone Three. In this milestone, you will make your final recommendations necessary for Nimble during its global expansion
and compose a short paper of your findings. You will also be asked to consider the critical success factors necessary and to determine how those critical success
factors help achieve those potential gains.
In addition to writing this short paper, this milestone also requires you to finish populating the remaining rows of the PESTEL Analysis Worksheet: India, Middle
East, and France. This milestone will be graded with the Milestone Three Rubric.

Part 2: Composition
Nimble Storage has an objective of expanding globally and thus the entire firm ought to be prepared for that move. The firm ought to have a good coordination of the marketing, financial and human resources when setting up business in the new nations. It is important to understand that each market in the different nations has unique needs, varying competition levels, expectations as well as price ranges. Hence, the organizational culture in the firm will affect the company’s performance internationally. Organizational culture is simply the traditions shared by the workers in the firm as well as the social rules which govern interactions within the firm. The most common forms of organizational culture in firms include formal and informal culture. The formal culture involves the expectations that the firm management has regarding the business. On the other hand, informal culture involves the manner in which individuals in the organization behave and conduct themselves while interacting with each other (Nikpour, 2017). In the Nimble Storage firm, the human resource department will be required to develop strategies of adapting into the new global position and ensuring that all the complaints of the different types of labor force are attended to. In the context of expanding the business to other nations, the firm should be ready to interact and conduct business in different culture where individuals have their own principles and personal values that they follow.
Business practice analysis
The current HR strategies applied in the firm ensures that the organization is able to obtain the needed talent as well as retain them through a series of adopted measures. Having a large labor force, the management must ensure that the practices which are adopted are effective and efficient in maintaining the huge number of workers. Nimble storage has ensured that its organizational culture is simplified and memorable to employees to increase their capability to determine what is expected of them and motivate them to behave in the expected manner. Over the years, the organization has kept changing its strategies to ensure that it suits the expected demands from the labor forces.
Processes such as onboarding has helped in ensuring that the hired workers know exactly how to conduct themselves in the firm. They allow the newbies to be familiar with their working environment and to have adequate time to ask all the questions they might have pertaining their job positions. In addition, the procedure ensures that the workers can easily transition to the new environment without difficulties which might slow down the performance of the firm (Pawirosumarto et al., 2017). It ensures that the employees’ turnover rate is reduced, and the overall productivity of the firm is increased. However, the organization might spend a lot of time and financial resources conducting onboarding activities to huge crowds of workers who are hired every year. Therefore, as much as this business practice is beneficial to the firm, it is adding some expenses which have been avoided by skipping the procedure. Meeting the minimum wage requirement ensures that the company can abide by the laws of the different countries it operates in and ensures that it is spared form political influences.
Moreover, allowing workers to develop their career and giving them the compensation that suits their respective job positions ensures that the employees feel appreciated by the organization. Job satisfaction has been said to be brought by compensating workers the amount worth their efforts and ensuring that they feel appreciated and valued by the firm. Nimble storage ensures their workers can rely on it to develop their careers as well as have high payments which many desires. Therefore, this increases their retention capability and ensures that they continually improve their performance in their job positions. Therefore, the firm has a huge base of talent which can be useful in keeping up with the technological advancements which the firm needs to implement (Brannen et al., 2017). Advancement of technology is useful in ensuring that the firm innovates the latest storage gadgets which can sell at a reasonably high price than other products in the market. It allows the firm to be spared of the price battle which might exist if the firm would be using conventional technology. The innovativeness of the firm allows it to thrive in the business world regardless of the economic situation, it can capture more consumers than its many competitors.
Recommendations
The firm should improve its HR practices by implementing HR software that will allow the firm to easily monitor their workers and be able to operate smoothly while collaborating with other managers in different countries where the firm operates. The firm should encourage more creativity among its workers to ensure that it can innovate more products and be able to diversify their business as a competitive strategy. Coordination of the global working areas of the firm should necessitate the firm to employ virtual meetings rather than travelling form one country to the other. The managers will find this method convenient to them and will ensure that there is uniformity in the way the firm is run from different countries.

Nimble Storage and PESTEL Analysis

Introduction
The Nimble storage conclusively contains a mission and a vision which are geocentric. Geocentric refers to some strategies in a business which are integrated across the world, which includes the best employees who are not from only one country but globally. With the development of the hybrid storage facilities, the growth and development of Nimble improved with a more significant margin. This is aided by the high number of integrated flash as well as drives which are of high capacity. The companies that use this kind of enterprises have a better performance generally, high capacity and fair data storage price for the company. Nimble has played a very critical role in terms of steps to become a global organization. The smart stack allows the implementation of the creation of products so that the customers’ needs can be met, which is the definition of workload storage of VDI. The prediction about Nimble is that it will continue in skyrocketing across the globe.
Business practice
Critical success factors
The aspect of rapid globalization has caused many companies to move from the local level to international levels. The globalization and the expansion of businesses have some limitations, for example, the different diversity of cultures across the world, which makes some business activities to run difficult. It is, therefore, essential for the business to be aware of the existence of such barriers so that they can thrive. The first critical important factor in a place is the adoption before moving the business to geocentric is conducting research. The multiple researching on different cultures is essential to help the company to know the mitigation measures on what to do in case a sure thing erupt in terms of culture. The focus groups have shown a high positive impact when one wants to receive feedback about specific cultures. If Nimble Storage has got a lot of people that work for them and they have some information about the culture of the place, these people can be of very important for the business in their area of origin.
Secondly, another critical success factor is location. Since Nimble storage is a global business, the business moves to a place that has a low population and the transportation of the area are inferior this will overall make the company to fall or not to thrive. A business location is a very crucial factor for the success of a business when one is choosing the site of a company that a very critical factor that should be looked at because it determines the success of the business, lastly, another crucial element in a place is the awareness of the laws within the country especially those that are in line with the company. When the industry has transitioned from a local to a global level, its means that there are changes in the laws that one needs to be very aware of them, this is because the laws of differ significantly from one country to another.
Political Trends
The political factors have a significant impact during the transition of a business from one level to another. These have effects on both the industry as a whole as well as human resources. Lack of political stability affects the day to day running of the places, especially those companies that are operating at international levels. An aggressive takeover is likely to overthrow the government, especially when the laws are not favourable. This has negative impacts which include rioting, deaths and injuries, looting and distorting the peace generally. An environment that is not peaceful the businesses in general marks the company typically because people does not have money and resources when there is political instability. Going out to buy things from a business premise becomes a challenge due to the laws and restrictions that are always put in place during this period. The overall disruption occurs for all the businesses because the people who work on the premises some may be injured as well as deaths may occur in the process. Secondly, another political impact is the alteration of rules and the regulations which has got a significant effect on the business. This is evidenced during the early 21st century scandals that happened in the US when the country became aware of the compliance of the corporates. There was the introduction of Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, which was introduced in 2002. This reacted to the social movement as they wanted to make all the public companies liable
Recommendations
The organization and the businesses in most of the time are affected by the external environmental factors. These factors include but not limited to the economic, social, political and technological. Businesses also should put into consideration the laws and regulations of the country, the culture and ethics as well as the demographic factors to know how to set and run a business. Political factors are variable according to the government or the origin where the company will or is located. This means that the impacts that they cause to the business vary as well.
Regarding the population of a country, it’s the mandate of the people to elect the open government system that they feel is good for them. There is another way to doing this, which is the totalitarian system whereby the power to rule people comes from a specific group of people. It is essential to know how to mitigate these political factors, and one of them is the issue of having the political risk insurance policy this will help one to reduce and minimize the risks. One should set up the business where the laws and the culture are favourable so that the company can thrive. It is also essential for one to know the number of people that one wants to serve so that they can make an informed decision on where to set the business. Lastly, technological advancement is significant for one to be able to compete with other companies globally. One must learn the new and upcoming technology so that they can be embraced in the business.
Conclusion
The prediction of storage needs and the support of the Nimble by the use of technology is significant. The business people and the developers should struggle to analyses the future costs of business, the technologies which are very vital in today’s planning. Like I have discussed above, there are critical factors that do a place to thrive globally, and every person should try to analyses them, especially those that want to invest in global business activity.

Introduction
Nimble Storage Company is a global leading in online sell due to its high level of innovative ideas and investment not only in its employees but also in the human resource department. Basing on the interview conducted to nimble storage manager in charge of human resource, investment into their employees has been a big boost for the company for it to attain its potential both domestically and internationally. In this paper I will be looking into the potential benefits that a company may attain in its geocentric focus, the benefits of employees collaboration in this geocentric environment as well as the cost-benefit analysis of the appropriate recommendations on the strategic activities that needs to be done so as to increase the worldwide interpersonal relationship.
Gaps in the Organization’s Current Practices within the Global Market That Are Relevant to the Human Resources Team of the Organization.
One of the significant gap in the Nimble stockpiling recruiting measure is the disappointment of promoting the business opportunity in their association. The association is profoundly subject to the reference strategy for recruiting, and this may be thwarting their longing of getting gifted laborers. Reference has a few shortcomings that may influence the nature of the employing cycle. Despite the fact that it improve joint effort inside the representatives because of their past relations, it might mess some up in the association workforce, (Sun, 2020).
To begin with, the Nimble association is a worldwide association and reference of representatives may be an obstacle to the variety of the workforce. The element of independence stanzas aggregation placed by Hofstede is extremely certain that the majority of the way of life will in general be individualistic and thusly just thinks about the individuals inside the nuclear family. This hypothesis may impact the reference cycle the same number of individuals will anticipate alluding their loved ones and finally, there will be an absence of variety in the association. This hole made by the reference work cycle may prompt issues, for example, nepotism, segregation, absence of innovativeness and development since one just allude an individual having similar reasoning and qualities, (Nour, 2017)
The second gap in the worldwide business practice is that they don’t priority social distinction despite the fact that there are working in various pieces of the worldwide circle. As per the PESTLE and Hofstede measurements, every climate has different components. It is along these lines not fitting to apply one arrangement of enrollment everywhere on the globe without thinking about the social variety of the representatives. The thorough necessity measure provided by the organization need additionally to prioritize the geocentric factors, for example, culture and business mentalities. Most likely, this gap has been brought about by the less scouts in the organization. As indicated by the contextual investigation, the HR the executive’s staff is negligible. It comprises of just 15 staff individuals with three in-house selection representatives while then again, the quantity of workers is persistently expanding.
Potential Gains for the Organization Regarding Their Business Practices If They Adopt a More Geocentric Focus
Geometric focus has so many advantages in the process that is involved in hiring their employees. One of them is that it obtain individuals with different skills all across the world that will help them in having competitive advantage in data storage market.
Cultural diversity such as gender, race and political affiliation is put into consideration in the geometric hiring process which enables the company to meet its target of acquiring a highly qualified and skilled individuals from different backgrounds which enhances creativity and innovation.
Using geometric focus also yields a higher productivity and hence a high volume of output for the company. This is so since interaction of people from different background will push them to focused more on their work and less in unproductive conversations, (Jackson, 2018)
Potential Gains for the Organization Regarding Their Employee Collaboration If They Adopt a More Geocentric Focus
Geocentric focus encompasses placing the most qualified individuals at the job positions that they are most suited without considering their nationality or their geographical originality. This will lead to a high collaboration between employees since each one of them is assigned a duty that matches their cultural and working styles that they are best fit for. A good example is that this system will position an employee in the nimble branch that an individual is most suited and feels most comfortable, (Halkias, et al, 2020).
By the fact that geocentric focus considers cultural diversity in the process of employment, this leads to creating a good working environment as well as creating a good working environment through having ethical consideration.
Recommendations and their cost-benefit analysis
Having a good interpersonal relationship between the employer and employees is an essential aspect in ensuring success of any organization. For Nimble Storage Company to achieve this goal, there is need to consider two factors. One of them is that there is need to conduct an annual come together ceremony for all the workers through conducting workshops so as to strengthening employee’s relationship. The cost of conducting this activity is its greatest challenge. The second one is having a strong worldwide communication network for all the workers, this initiative possess the challenge of cost though the activity will lead to a faster communication.
