1. Timeline description and details: There are multiple ways to construct a timeline. Find one that fits you and your information.
Include 10-15 events, each including the following descriptors:
– titles of books or writings or some sort of identifier
– your age or some time reference
– and whether it was a positive or negative experience
Literacy Narrative-2019
Literacy Narrative and Timeline: This assignment includes two parts: an informal essay and a timeline.
See Chapter 6 in Evergreen for more information on writing a narrative essay – to narrate.
Basic Expectations:
1. Essay – Minimum 2 pages double-spaced, maximum 3 pages, 11pt. font.
2. Timeline – minimum 10 entries, maximum 15, dates, titles, positive or negative experience
3. Complete self-graded portion of rubric; total the points for both the essay and timeline
Topic: Your history as a writer and reader
Audience: Your instructor and your class peers, others of your choosing
Genre: Informal essay and timeline
Format: None. Really, it’s not a trick. No formal format. Use the white space how you decide.
(ex. APA/MLA) Include your name and the date somewhere.
Action: Interview (optional). It is recommended that you talk with someone who knows your past, present, or fto help remember your literacy history or hear ideas from someone else’s.

: If you do the timeline first, it could inform your writing. If not, no problem. They don’t have to be closely tied. You may construct it in whatever format on the page that makes sense to you.
