University meets the requirements for clinical competencies as defined by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), using nontraditional experiences for practicing nurses. These experiences come in the form of direct and indirect care experiences in which licensed nursing students engage in learning within the context of their hospital organization, specific care discipline, and local communities.

· What is Covid-19?

· COVID-19 is the acronym for the full name coronavirus disease of 2019.

· It started in Wuhan, China in late 2019 and has since spread worldwide.

· COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2)

· When was the coronavirus given the “COVID-19” name?

· On December 31, 2019, a strange new pneumonia of unknown cause was reported to the Chinese WHO Country Office.

· A cluster of these cases originally appeared in Wuhan, a city in the Hubei Province of China.

· What is a coronavirus? Coronaviruses are common human and animal viruses. They were first discovered in domestic poultry in the 1930s. In animals, coronaviruses cause a range of respiratory, gastrointestinal, liver, and neurologic diseases

· What is the difference Between the two? ( Covid 19 and Flu.

· Covid –(1) If a person has COVID-19, it could take them longer to develop symptoms than if they had flu.

(2)Typically, a person develops symptoms 5 days after being infected, but symptoms can appear as early as 2 days after infection or as late as 14 days after infection, and the time range can vary.

3) If a person has COVID-19, they may be contagious for a longer period of time than if they had flu

· Flu . (1)Typically, a person develops symptoms anywhere from 1 to 4 days after infection

(2) Most people with flu are contagious for about 1 day before they show symptoms

· Facts about Covid-19

· Covid – Infants and people with weakened immune systems can be contagious for even longer

· it’s possible for people to spread the virus for about 2 days before experiencing signs or symptoms and remain contagious for at least 10 days after signs or symptoms first appeared. If someone is asymptomatic or their symptoms go away, it’s possible to remain contagious for at least 10 days after testing positive for COVID-19.

· How DO we Test For Covid

· Fortunately its Free .

· Two kinds of tests are available for COVID-19: viral tests and antibody tests.

· There are special Testing kits that will be use to get a nasal swab and this will bw taken to the lab for analysis.

· How does the Virus Spread and how do you protect yourself ?

· Persons to Persons. Between people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet).

· Through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or talks.

· These droplets can land in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby or possibly be inhaled into the lungs.

· COVID-19 may be spread by people who are not showing symptoms

· It may be possible that a person can get COVID-19 by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or possibly their eyes

· How to protect your self

· Stay 6ft away from People

· Wear your mask in public places

· Wear your mask correctly , covering your Nose and mouth

· Who Should not wear a Mask? Children under the age of 2yrs, anyone having trouble breathing or anyone who cannot takeoff the mask without the help from another person .

· One of the best known ways of preventing the spread of Covid 19 and other flu viruses is Hand washing . Wash your hand is the Key .
