Over the last 10 weeks, each of you have been your own entrepreneur developing business idea(s) using
models and putting together various websites to bring your idea to life.
But your educational journey is
not just about building websites, but you are future business leaders or managers.
For your final exam, you will act as the role of consultant. There is a client in Vancouver who wants to
start an e-commerce business. How would you guide the client? The following are a series of questions
that your paper will answer. The answers must demonstrate clear connection between the concepts’
best practices and how the concepts can be translated into practical e-commerce business success. E-
commerce concepts are interconnected, and the paper should demonstrate some level of holistic
thinking to the client’s issue.
The client did not expand on what type of e-commerce business. The author will have the choice to
make certain assumptions in the consulting of the client. The paper must clearly state the assumptions
on which the answers will be based, and the assumptions must be consistent throughout all the
answers.
1. How would you explain to your client on how to start and come up with a business idea using
the Value Proposition Canvas and Business Model Canvas? What areas of these two models
would you emphasize as the most important and why? What areas of these two models would
you emphasize as spending more time to reflect and why? (15
marks)
2. How would you explain to your client which software to use to build their website? What are
the important factors based on your own experiences when picking the software and why? (10
marks)
3. How would you explain the importance of an operations plan to run the e-commerce business?
What are all the operational areas that the client needs to be aware of and what do they mean?
Of all these areas identified, rank them for the client from most important to least important
and explain why it was ranked in this manner? (15 marks)
4. Based on the eight technologies of an ecommerce site, how would you explain to your client as
what technologies absolutely needed and what could be considered optional? What is the
justification for your choices? (20 marks)
5. What final comments would you give your client about setting an e-commerce business? (10
marks)

Requirements:
• This is an individual assignment.
• You have 24 hours to complete AND submit to Turnitin in Week 11. Late assignments will not be
accepted. Please hand in prior to the 24-hour period.
