Your purpose in this assignment is to identify issues that are argumentative and to formulate your possible assertion (thesis) on these issues. DO NOT write a full paper on these issues at this time. 

Instructions: 

Identify current issues in today’s society that are possibly argumentative topics. (civil rights and racial discrimination)

Write separate 150-200 word paragraphs for each issue 

Include the following points in your paragraphs:

• the specific issue—tell why it is important;
• the thesis statement identifying your position on the issue—what do believe about this issue;
• your purposed audience—who would you address on this issue;
• possible counterargument on the issue—what are the opposing views on the issue.
