1.4 For your first discussion on the module content, your assignment is to write a short post on the topic of sensors.

Consider the following:

Sensors are essential for mission accomplishment in every domain. First use your readings to explain the general categories of unmanned system sensors, and to describe their functions. Be sure to address the difference between proprioceptive and exteroceptive sensors. Then, use your research skills and the Hunt library to locate a journal article that discusses the use of a sensor from an unmanned platform to perform a particular mission. In your post, describe the sensor in terms of its category and function, then evaluate the sensor for its suitability for the mission. What capabilities should a sensor have for the mission? What are the capabilities of the sensor that was used? Are there gaps in the sensor’s performance? Would you recommend that sensor for that mission, or would you recommend a different sensor?
