1 The social justice case in Cortez Multimedia results in diverse counselors increasing their assertiveness and awareness of the vulnerabilities which place people at risk of like in the case of Paula Cortez.

2 For instance, counselors might use activities that are mindfulness-based such as body awareness exercises and body scans to aid clients to be able to differentiate between past and current experiences.

1 In such a case, I would use group therapy to help her feel better about herself and know that she is not the only one undergoing the difficult moments (Toseland, et.al, 2017).

3 In the case of Paula Cortez, there would be an emphasis on her background and factors that prompt drug addiction.

The evidence-based interventions call for the bringing on board of different professionals in the recovery process.

There is extensive knowledge of evidence-based practice.

Although much of the information is in nursing fled, many publications stress the benefits that come with collaboration among health care providers.

3 Evidence-based practices bring together many stakeholders such as nurses, physicians, social workers, family members, and doctors.

Such a setting contributes to the quick recovery of the clients.

There is also minimization of errors and other drawbacks.

Nonetheless, the research would serve to equip me with knowledge of the fundamental skills that are required in evidence-based practices.

2 Also, group therapy is essential in establishing support as well as rapport and helps in guaranteeing motivation among different members in a given group in therapy among victims of thinking about suicidal concerns.

The kind of therapy entails joining the purposes of the miscellaneous people of the group and therapists or rather counselors who have dealt with such specific individuals.

A group therapist is anticipated to be unequivocal and reassuring as well as places stress and puts augmented concentration towards the progress and development of the upcoming of different people, especially like in our case of Paula Cortez, who might have gone through a lot.

Also, according to Carl Rogers, “person-centered group therapy and the democratic leadership style would be a better fit in that person-centered group therapy is distinguished by the conditions of the group as impacted by the leader” (Berg et.al, 2018).

3 The research indicates that the interventions incorporate diverse ways of dealing with an addiction problem.

There is also the inclusion of many health care providers.

Other than undergoing mental therapy, the health care providers will monitor her general wellbeing.

The support from social workers, family members, and other professionals increase the chances of registering quick recovery.

A focus on Paula Cortez’s past life would help determines the best interventions.

She has in the past experienced physical arrests, drug abuse, and arrests.

Her addiction span for many years thus the need to focus consideration of the drugs that she has been abusing is also critical.

Moreover, dealing with hard drug addiction calls for different approaches.

The social worker must evaluate the quality of the program and ways it fist to Paula Cortez’s conditions.

There is a need to illustrate that the program has in the past been proven to be effective.

It ought to incorporate evidence-based practices as they help monitor the progress of the persons under-recovery.

4 Several fields are addressed by internet-based-psychological-interventions (IBPI).

These include;

4 substance and alcohol abuse, self-help therapies for addiction, sex disorders, anxieties and many other mental and behavioral issues or disorders that consist of self-imaging/eating, sleeping disorders, and smoking cessation.

Most of these internet interventions are cognitive programmers of behavior who get proposed as guided self-help programmers on the internet.

Also, these system analysts are pure self-help database critics while others give aid to face to conventional face therapy.

If I am to provide recommendations on an IBPI, I offer it to people who are making an effort in ridding themselves of their habits of smoking (Ryan, et.al, 2010).

3 In the recent past, there has been an increase in the number of evidence-based practices to reduce family problems.

An evidence-based approach is an ideal way of dealing with drug addiction.

The approach calls for a distinction between practice and evidence.

In the case of Paula Cortez, she is an addict of cocaine, marijuana, and other hard drugs.

One of the interventions is the 12 steps programs for drug addiction.

The 12 steps programs entail the identification of the problem, the trigger factors, effects and ways of dealing with the addiction.

1 An intervention denotes the combination of program strategies or elements that get designed to improve the status of health or produce changes in behavior among a whole populace or individuals.

Maintenance and initiation of eye contact

Strength of muscle and attention

Development of coordination and balance

1 Augmentation of confidence as well as the promotion of a sense of well-being among individuals.

Disadvantages of Intervention

Invasion of one’s privacy.

Despite increasing social support, intervention ensures that one is prone to diverse attitudes from people (Piehler & Winters, 2017).

It is important to avoid getting extremely involved when it comes to patients because this may result in a biased process against them.

For example, one’s child or family member or friend.

3 Social workers are charged with the role of monitoring the progress of the patients.

They must thus have the skills that are essential in the management and caring of the drug addicts.

Communication skills are critical as social workers are the interface between the multidisciplinary team and the client.

There is also the need to have medical skills and knowledge.

The knowledge makes it possible to address medical issues arising from drug addiction.

There are many mental health indicators and therapeutic options that influence the recovery processes.

The social workers ought to wholly understand the nature of addiction and factors that influence the addiction.

Numerous interventions have been somewhat short like their assessments. Nonetheless, since a majority of the kids go to school, it is safe to say that the introduction of interventions that facilitate physical activity and healthy eating are advised (Morgan, et.al, 2016). Some of the kinds of interventions that the study has not mentioned include approaches like:

i. Promoting a positive body image.

ii. Prevention of obesity in kids.

iii. Promoting a healthy lifestyle.

iv. Promote physical activity.

3 Therapy and counseling skills are essential in handling the case.

Focusing on Paula Cortez’s life indicates that she had faced abuse and arrest.

The ordeals may trigger the use of drugs.

The social workers can undertake to help Paula Cortez undergo a healing process as a way of reducing the reliance on drugs.

Communication and interpersonal skills are also ideal as they increase the ability to interact with other persons at ease.

Social workers must be in a position to incorporate evidence-based practices and cooperate with other professionals.

1 The two exercises that would get recommendations for a group of people who are suicidal and undergoing cases such as Paula Cortez include:

Physical exercise.

1 The use of questionnaires or notes.

Physical Exercise

2 According to studies, physical exercise usually affects the brain of diverse individuals.

Exercise helps in controlling blood sugar and could also raise oxygen flow to the brain.

From the written documents, it was clear that the individuals who used to exercise seemed more relaxed as compared to their counterparts.

1 The Use of Questionnaires or Notes

2 Exercises that could help the girls set priorities and goals include having these girls write down what they are going through and their problems.

Here, the individuals are expected to write down their desires and wishes in the condition as well as distinct results which they may want to take place as well as the changes which they may want their colleagues to make (Holosko, et.al, 2012).

3 I believe that the information is enough to warrant an intervention.

The information indicates that Paula Cortez has been battling addiction for many years.

Moreover, she has also faced physical abuse in the past thus increasing the risk of abusing more drugs.

The research on evidence-based practices offers the surety of addressing addiction problems.

The failure to adopt one of the interventions may trigger an escalation of the problem
