Why is climate change taking place? It is a question that Bothers individuals, governments, and researchers. The global climate comprises the air, sun, earth and the oceans and other water bodies, the wind, rain, snow, forests, deserts and savannas, and human activities. Global warming, which is a gradual increase in the earth’s atmospheric temperatures, bothers scientists, environmental activists, and governments in all earth regions as one of the global challenges. The study has focused on the recent climate policy developed by the United States of America’s Environmental protection agency, the Agency’s approach to public education, among other activities, as discussed below.

The climate on Earth has changed. There are rising temperatures, snow, rainfall trends, and more extreme climatic events, including heavy precipitation and high temperatures. Much of these changes are linked to the rising amounts of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases that human activities cause in our atmosphere. There have also been some significant shifts in the world’s oceans and glaciers:

· The oceans are warming up and more acidic.

· Ice cells are shrinking.

· The sea levels are rising.

As these and other developments become more noticeable in the coming decades, they are likely to pose challenges for our society and our environment. We can minimize risks from climate change by making decisions that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and plan for the changes already in place. The world in which our children and grandchildren live is influenced today by our choices. The EPA is racing towards drafting interim vehicle standards for the emission of carbon IV oxide.

The new interim standard rules are expected to be based on an agreement between California and the car assembly industries. The EPA president is expected to draft and interim auto emissions standards based on arrangements with five car companies. California’s development signals will be influencing bidden administration’s climate and clean transportation in the near term (“Climate change research distorted and suppressed,” n.d.). A heavy-lift will come when the EPA and the transport department work collaboratively to craft long-term car standards that extend the past model.

The EPA and the California Air Resource Board, the central air pollution regulators in the golden state, reached a voluntary emissions agreement last summer with giant car companies like ford motors, Volkswagen, and BMW of North America, Volvo, and Honda Motors Company. The agreement required that companies minimize greenhouse gasses emitted from their passenger vehicles and light trucks by at least 3.7% every e year. This is less strict than former President Obama’s clean car requirements, which involved an annual rise of five percent. However, it is more aggressive than former President Trump’s rules, which only took an annual increase of 1.5%.

Sources said that if the EPA says that California’s agreement will become global, the agency will probably do so before April 1. The policy enactment has a favorable implication to the Americans. Most people in California as move work toward reviewing previously agency actions issued in former administrations and adopting policies that focus on protecting public health and the environment (Draganova-Zlateva et al., 2019). The adoption of the California agreement would be a smarter choice as it has worn significant industrial support. The automakers will bear a significant burden of making environmentally friendly cars, increasing the safety of the average Americans as I will make a dent in the climate pollution from the transportation sector, which is the country’s most significant source of greenhouse gases.

Through environmental education, the EPA will increase the public awareness and knowledge base regarding current environmental challenges posed by car emissions and other problems. The EPA public education programs work towards imparting skills into the societies to assist them in making more informed and environmentally healthy choices while taking responsible actions. Internet based communication and seminars are the major mechanisms utilized by EPA in creating public awareness on climate change management practices. The EPA continues to offer extensive information via the online channels, which is critical in extending its reach beyond the US boundaries to global citizens while working with the national government to develop federal programs, which are essential in making desired changes in the industrial processes (Brown, 2017). The EPA will periodically offer information regarding global environmental and climate changes to the citizens, industries, governments, and NGOs through the details gathered in the global climate research and risk assessment studies.

By working collaboratively with other agencies, motor companies, and NGOs towards a common goal of increasing public awareness on climate and the implications of increased greenhouse gases to global warming and our future (Lavy & Boiko, 2017). Some of the techniques utilized in fostering engagement would include peer instructions, advanced simulations, and built-in instructions, which would enhance interprofessional learning while allowing everyone to have a voice in the process. Representatives and professionals from each group, such as lawyers, industrial managers, engineers, environmental activists, and the general public, would be vital in offering everybody an equal chance of speaking and representing multiple viewpoints within every profession. And the emphasis on creating professional networks in the communities would be vital in increasing public engagement (Lavy & Boiko, 2017). Finally, collecting data from industries and the public on their views regarding the policy and its implications f to their present and future would be critical in advancing science and change implementation and improving team working towards a safer environment.

Science has endeavored to make numerous inroads in comprehending the issues of climatic changes and their causes. Science forms a strong foundation of our starting to understand the scope of the issue’s potential impacts to current and future generations and to place climate change issues in the context of more considerable global challenges. However, the scientific evidence points out human activities as the leading causes of climate change, especially carbon IV oxide emissions such as vehicles and factories and agricultural activities (Brown, 2017). The officials often demand so many qualifying words like potentially, which often leads to uncertainties in readers’ minds on the actual causes and future impacts of pollution on our environment. In most cases, the EPA reports tend to face significant political influences with the government and top officials forcing them to alter their findings, such as on draft reports on the environment. For instance, in June 2003, a front-page on the new Yorker’s time broke the news regarding the white house officials attempting to alert to a section of the EPA exports on climate change (“Climate change research distorted and suppressed,” n.d.). EPA’s decision to eliminate any mentions of global warming for their reports often draws widespread criticism, with the republicans and democratic being moved to decry the administration’s political manipulations in this case. In most cases, the scientific posts and journals are rendered less reliable for decision-making and influencing change due to such political manipulations making a move towards a safe future more complex and more of an illusion.

I would regard the policy change to be an excellent strategy to guarantee sustainable climate changes and prepare Americans for a better future. The change will pave the way for more aggressive standards that will make up for the lost time and land America to a long-term goal of a net-zero on-road fleet by 2050. The California framework is a pragmatic compromise that should be embraced immediately to turn our collective efforts to the next step of rulemaking, which will anchor the transition process to zero-emission cars. The general motors and other assembly industries have expressed their strong support towards the policy’s actualization by promising to take steps towards phasing out the production of gas cars and replacing them with electric vehicles by 2025. Compared to gas-fueled vehicles, electric cars have proved to be an efficient cost reduction strategy that will save much cash for middle and low-income Americans (Hui He, Jin, 2017). The policy will make the United States a leader in the global goal of transforming to an electric and self-driving vehicle. The policy will also be a job creator for the American youths and companies in demand to expand the battery and electric vehicle research and development and production, making the cars more affordable. The policy will further increase the economies of fuel consumption. As the US is continually working towards modernization of fuel economy standards, EPA, through this policy, calls for advanced technologies which can transform the transportation sector and make it conscious of the public health needs.
