Each student is required to conduct two interviews for the semester. Specific due dates are provided on Moodle. The primary purpose of this activity is to give you an opportunity to engage with two professionals practicing in the field of HR or HRD. Try to arrange at least a one-hour interview to provide enough time for some in-depth discussion. If possible, get a tour of their facility (if they have one). Phone and Skype interviews are acceptable. Email interviews are not acceptable. Do not pursue a job during this informational interview unless the other person initiates the discussion. Most interviews will develop a character of their own once you get them started. Remember, this interview can be as valuable as you choose to make it. If you put effort into it, you will get much more out of it than you might expect. Please produce a five-page report per interview. The cover page does not count towards the page count. For those of you who have completed this assignment in previous courses, do not turn in the old assignments. This conduct is considered academically dishonest and will be reported to LSU Student Advocacy and Accountability.

Your interview should be written according to APA6 guidelines and include an abstract and cover-page with the assignment title, your name, date, university name, school name, course number, and professor. See figure 1 below. Your interview field exercise should be no less than five pages in length, double-spaced, 1-inch margins, Times New Roman, 12-point font. There is no penalty for writing more than five pages. Each section of your paper should be labeled with the corresponding question in bold.

Choose a minimum of five of the following questions. In addition to these questions, you are required to develop five of your own.

1. Describe the activities and roles in your job.
