1. Provide a brief overview of your historical event. For instance, what background information or context does the reader of your essay need?

There was the drafting of the Equal Rights Amendment by two leaders named Alice Paul and Crystal Eastman. They were both members of the women’s suffrage movement. The movement’s main aim was to have some successful campaigns to win access to the ballot through 19th amendment adoption. These were women’s rights advocates, and this was a very logical step that they were taking. They were addressing the issue of women being termed as a second-hand class, and they believed that enriching the principle, which was on gender equality in the charter, would play a vital role in addressing the same. The women before these were put into consideration women had no rights to voting. This was like belittling them because everyone should have a democratic right, (Allen, 2018)

1. Based on your research q Allen, B. (2018uestion, develop a thesis statement that states your claim about your selected historical event. Your thesis statement should be clear, specific, and arguable, as it will give direction to the rest of your essay.

Many churches were not in favor of this step, which these bold women took, and some started to rebel against it. The opposers to the Amendment was the Baptist Church of Illinois, and they were opposing the Amendment the most. And the worst thing that it did was iot held up a meeting in which it was convincing others and all their associations that them as well they should not be in support of Equal rights Amendments. They argued that the Amendment had an ungodly definition of the word sex. And they usually believe that sex is only for a male and a female. According to the constitutions, equal justice and equal concepts meant that everyone should not be treated equally. The movement was trying to address the issue of men and women being given equal rights and chances in all jurisdictions in the American state. The constitution as well should have an equal right to vote as well, (Allen, 2018)
