Argumentative Essay Preliminary Outline
The longer the paper you need to write, the more helpful it is to plan it out. Outlines work like “to do ” lists or like an architect’s blueprints.
You have, if you have been completing all your assignments, chosen a topic for your argumentative/persuasive essay and begun to do research on that topic. Ideally, you should have begun reading your research and deciding if you will use the sources you have found or if you need to find different sources. If you have been reading your sources, you should be thinking about how to support your argument from those sources.
For this assignment, you will write your initial plan for your argumentative/persuasive essay that you will complete for ENGL 1301 Lesson 7.
Create a formal alphanumeric outline for your argumentative/persuasive essay. It does not have to be particularly detailed yet; I will not expect you to go beyond the second organizational level within the outline. You may wish to refer to the outline structure shown in Lesson 2 or the MLA How To in Lesson 3.
Directions: Fill in the outline and then save it as a .rtf, , or x document. Upload the document using the assignment link. Make sure that you delete all red-colored text and that you insert an MLA heading, a header, and a title before you submit.
