Feasability Study for Renovation of Inpatient Acute Rehababilittion Facility
Background:
Inpatient rehababilitation facilitities (IRF’s) provides a focused environment for patients who require medical management and therapies such as speech-language therapy, physical therapy and also occupational therapy. Inpatient Acute Rehabilitation aims to improve the functioning state of the patient’s body, which later leads to the ability of the person to live an independent life without depending on others.
Objective:
To assess the feasibility and efficacy of providing an additional upgrade to the inpatient acute rehabilitation facility patient rooms and adding a mobility garden for patients recovery during therpy. Rehabilitation in an inpatient acute rehab hospital shortens the overall rehab stay and provides 24 hour medical management. This process will measure satisfaction of care, increased functional gains, as well as increased facility revenue.
How the Proposal will impact quaility, availability, accessibility, and affordability of care
There is always a difference in the environment in a hospital rather than a skilled nursing facility (SNF). In an inpatient acute hospital the hospital the nurses work with the doctors daily, in a skilled nursing facility physicians are not required to see patients on a weekly basis.
The improvements within our facility will increase the quality of the patient rooms as well as the therapy equipment and program.
