Question 1:
“CPUs and Programming” Please respond to the following:
• From the first e-Activity, identify the following CPUs: 1) the CPU that resides on a computer that you own or a computer that you would consider purchasing, and 2) the CPU of one (1) other computer. Compare the instruction sets and clock rates of each CPU. Determine which CPU of the two is faster and why. Conclude whether or not the clock rate by itself makes the CPU faster. Provide a rationale for your response.
• From the second e-Activity, examine two (2) benefits of using planning techniques—such as writing program flowcharts, pseudocode, or other available programming planning technique—to devise and design computer programs. Evaluate the effectiveness of your preferred program planning technique, based on its success in the real world. Provide one (1) example of a real-life application of your preferred program planning technique to support your response.
Question 2:
Case Modeling ” Please respond to the following:
• Outline the primary ways in which the traditional approach to modeling a use case differs from an object-oriented approach. Develop a scenario in which you would use the traditional approach over the object-oriented approach, and explain your reasons why.
Question 3:
Cache Memory and Multicore Processors” Please respond to the following:
• From the e-Activity, determine the type of cache memory (i.e., Level 1, Level 2, or another type) that resides on a computer that you own or on a computer that you would consider purchasing. Examine the primary manner in which the type of cache memory that you have identified interfaces with the CPU and memory on your computer. Determine which type of cache memory is the most efficient, and provide one (1) example that depicts the manner in which the use of one (1) type of cache memory makes your computer processing more efficient than another.
• Evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of both symmetrical and master-slave multiprocessing systems in regards to computer processing speed, multiprocessing configuration, overheating, and cost. Of the two (2), recommend the type of processor that would be better suited for a computer that is primarily used for the following: Word processing, Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, and computer gaming. Provide a rationale for your response.
Question 4:
Setting up your server with the correct storage media can be critical to your network’s performance.
1. When it comes to your server’s storage capabilities for the OS itself, what would you choose to implement? How big would you make the drive? Why? What brand and technical specifications are you going to consider and why?
2. In addition to having the physical device installed in your server’s case, you can configure it logically by creating types of volumes. Talk about what you learned about RAID. What are some of the key points to consider?
