Assignment: Describe the Senior Leadership Team’s Role in Managing the Agency’s Mission – Due
Executive Leadership in Public Administration
The purpose of this assignment is to help you better understand the different challenges senior executives in the public sector encounter and the tools and resources available for them to assess and mitigate these challenges. For this assignment, you are a federal auditor with the Government Accountability Office (GAO) and have been asked to assess policy initiatives at a federal agency. You are to select one federal agency and assess the leadership’s strategic plan for operational visioning. Create a memorandum to brief agency leadership on your findings. Be sure your memo includes the following:
1. Describe the agency’s senior executive leadership expertise.
2. Critique the agency’s mission in comparison with its strategic plan.
3. Interpret the goals within the strategic plan for operational effectiveness.
4. Recommend changes to the plan that might improve operations.
Length: 2-3 pages, not including title and reference pages
References: Include a minimum of 5 scholarly resources.
Your presentation should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts presented in the course and provide new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic. Your response should reflect scholarly writing and current APA standards. Be sure to adhere to Academic Integrity Policy.
