The role of culture in organisations (hint: You might want to consider whether or not country of origin impacts on organisational culture. For instance, Volkswagen is a German firm, does the German culture impact on Volkswagen’s organisational culture. If it does, how and why? Or, you might want to analyse culture’s impact on joint ventures, leadership, teamwork, decision-making and so on.
Written Report
Task: Write a report (2000 words maximum with 100 words of acceptable leeway) that focuses upon the role of culture in organisations.
For example you might want to consider whether or not country of origin impacts on organisational culture. For instance, Volkswagen is a German firm, does the German culture impact on Volkswagen’s organisational culture. If it does, how and why? Or, you might want to analyse culture’s impact on joint ventures, leadership, teamwork, decision-making and so on.
Report Content:
Introduction – begin with an overview of what this report is all about and provide a brief background to the topic.
Body – Literature review – [from academic sources, reliable media (e.g. The Economist, The Australian Financial Review, The Conversation and other media of similar quality publications), governmental, non-governmental, international and professional organisations and newspapers]. A minimum of 12 references and at least 7 of these references should come from academic peer-reviewed
An overview of the topic that includes previous research undertaken in this area. Relevant concepts/ theories/ frameworks i.e. country of origin, organizational cultural, cultural frameworks etc. Provide examples to support the link between the concepts/theories and how culture potentially impacts organizations.
Implications – Discuss implications associated with culture within organizations.
Recommendations – Based upon your understanding of culture provide some managerial recommendations how this impacts organizations. These should be realistic and actionable.
Conclusions – Provide an overall summary of your report. This should not introduce new materials but based on everything you have written in the previous sections.
