Please review Chapter 14 very carefully. Then, look at the issues in one or both of the websites in the required resources folder. Come to the discussion board and set out (1) a problem statement that defines the problem addressed in what will be your ultimate analysis. You can find examples of problem statements in Chapter 14. Review the Steps in a Policy Analysis.  Then, please provide the background for this problem. The background is factual information needed to understand the problem. A detailed description of what constitutes background is found in our e-text (Chapter 14).  Please review your classmates’ submissions and provide comments, ask questions or give them additional resources for their background section that you think will be helpful. Please remember to provide citations for your post that are APA formatted as you will need that for your paper later on!

Problem Statement

The nutritional programs for low-income children are essential in the provision of healthy food to children at all times. There is the need to continue with the program for the benefit of the children in the community, however, the cost for this program has to be reduced to sustain the increasing number of children among other factors.

Most of the low-income children find it difficult to get several meals for sustenance. These children go with one meal for the whole day and sometimes, this meal is a problem for them.

The low-income children are the children that come from poor families, street children, and or the orphans (USDA, n.d). They have to work hard for themselves in order to get their own food together with that of their young ones in order to sustain themselves. However, sometimes it becomes difficult for them to get that little income to acquire food. As a result of this, they have skipped some meals or even some of the days without food.

Due to this, there are different stakeholders like the United States Department of Agriculture has several Nutrition Assistance Programs like the Child Nutrition Program, Food Distribution Program, and the Federal Nutrition Assistance Program that helps in the provision of the food (Tuttle, 2017). This program helps in increasing food security together with the distribution of food to the children. Their other concern is to ensure that all the children are healthy through the acquisition of healthy food (USDA,  n.d).

An alternative to this, other institutions like the schools and churches can help in the provision of providing healthy food to the children. This is through having the different programs that help in the provision of the food to the children that are having the low-income. Besides, well-wishers can also promote these programs.

For a long-lasting solution, I recommend more programs either private or public to be put up to help in the provision of food to low-income children. Besides, venturing more in agriculture products.

Here is a general description of the final paper. 

· Health Policy Analysis -Final paper writing assignment:  The student will select a health issue currently facing the American public. . The final paper must include the items on the Checklist for Writing a Policy Analysis set out in Chapter 14, page 289 of our e-text.

· Your paper should be no more than 5 pages long. 

· Please remember that this is a health policy and politics course. It is not a health course. Please DO NOT submit a paper that discusses say, the causes of and treatment for a disease. Discuss the health care policies that manage that disease in our country and your analysis of that policy. 

Your final paper which will be a health care policy analysis. The purpose of this assignment is to help you develop job skills you will need in the health services management marketplace. It will help you develop critical thinking skills when analyzing health care policies that may positively or adversely affect your institution, your patients, your neighborhood, your city or your nation.

This is a good start but your problem statement should be a 1 sentence question. What nutritional policy are you aiming at?

You have a problem statement. What you have written very well is your background. What policies have we used in this country to improve children’s nutritional status? How effective have those policies or policy been? That is how you will begin to rephrase this. Hang in there.
