This week we have introduced the concept of polarity thinking. Polarities and this concept of interdependency have existed since ancient times. Taoist “yin-yang” represents interdependent energies. In this discussion post, identify a polarity that would be experienced by differing groups within an organization. What is the “either/or” disagreement that is present in their current narrative? What is the “and/both” conversation that could be discovered with polarity thinking? Identify the boundary that is involved in this narrative. Common organizational examples of polarities include: task And relationship, cost And quality, team recognition And individual recognition.
