Assignment Description:
In this paper you will write a short biography about an influential person in the field of psychology and
discuss their research/theories and the impact of their work on the field of psychology. This paper is
intended to help you learn about the lives, careers, and influences of a prominent Psychologist. The
paper is due Friday, April 17, 2020 by 11:59pm.
Formatting Guidelines:
Must submit in the appropriate format: PDF, DOC, or DOCX. Do not submit a pages or alternative
format.
● Font: Times New Roman
● Size: 12
● Length: 8 – 12 pages (Text)
● Spacing: double-spaced
● Margins: 1-inch
● Need to Include: Title Page & Reference Section
Prompt:
1. Look over the list of 190 Psychologists posted to Blackboard and choose 1
2. Research them
● This should be done using Scholarly resources (textbooks, Journal Articles,
Biographies, Autobiographies, etc.)
● Some Non-Scholarly Resources can be used as well (Obituaries, Newspaper Articles,
etc.)
● Sources such as Wikipedia can be a good place to start your search and find sources
but should not be used as a source (that includes other publicly editable webpages).
3. “Paint” a picture of their life and their influence on the field of psychology.
● In other words, write about them and include information about their personal life,
professional life, prominent theories, influential studies, lasting influences etc.

● The entire lifetime of any one of the psychologists suggested can’t fit in such a short paper, so focus on
the aspects of their life you find meaningful/important.
● Present this paper in an objective manner.
● Don’t present the individual in a largely positive light unless it is warranted.
● Don’t present the individual in a largely negative light unless it is warranted.
● Paint a realistic word picture of their life.
