Isn’t it surprising that since 18th century to our day’s women are portrayed as irrational and emotional while men are considered to be balanced and knowledgeable individuals? Gender stereotyping remains entrenched in society in spite of the many legal, cultural and intellectual challenges that have called it into question.
Describe some examples of how this stereotype exhibits itself in modern American business and/or politics.

Labor-oriented political parties and labor unions had become major forces influencing wages and working conditions by the end of the 19th century. By 2010, there were 12% unionized workers in the US.

Labor organizations represent millions of workers in the United States. The Department of Labor’s Office of Labor-Management Standards is responsible for administering and enforcing most provisions of the Labor-Management Reporting and Disclosure Act of 1959 (LMRDA). LMRDA directly affects millions of people throughout the United States. The law was enacted to ensure basic standards of democracy and fiscal responsibility in labor organizations representing employees in private industry. The major provisions of LMRDA are:
A “bill of rights” for union members;
Requirements for reporting and disclosure of financial information and administrative practices by labor unions;
Requirements for reporting and disclosure by employers, labor relations consultants, union officers and employees, and surety companies, when they engage in certain activities;
Rules for establishing and maintaining trusteeships;
Standards for conducting fair elections of union officers; and

Franklin Roosevelt was elected in 1932 on his promise of developing different relationship between America’s people and its government, which he called “The New Deal.” He was perhaps our most economically progressive president: he believed in using the power of the federal government to solve people’s financial problems.
Franklin D. Roosevelt’s first order of business was to save the nation’s financial system.
Discuss how this legacy continues being an important part of the government policy in 21st century.

The Progressive Era refers to a period of varied reforms that took place throughout the United States over the first two decades of the twentieth century. While much of that change was enacted by the U.S. While much of that change was enacted by the U.S. Congress under the leadership of three consecutive presidents—Theodore Roosevelt, William Howard Taft, and Woodrow Wilson—it was also a movement that generated a variety of changes at the state and local levels as well.
Progressivism core assumption is that government at all levels could and should take responsibility for guarding the interests and the welfare of certain elements of society and should utilize the powers of legislation and regulation in so doing.
Discuss where we can observe this idea being considered as a guiding principle in actions of the U.S. Government.

Discuss evolution and influence of internet on today’s politics, economy and personal life.

Many Americans in the 1950s found themselves in relative prosperity for the first time in decades. Explain how many Americans reacted to their newfound economic stability.
